The South Canyon Fire and Storm King Mountain
The South Canyon Fire was one of the nation's most tragic wildfires and occurred near Glenwood Springs in western Colorado on July 6th, 1994. Twelve hotshots and smoke jumpers died when a forest fire raced up Storm King Mountain to overwhelm fire crews.
